Daphne’s litter of Berkshire piglets ventured out in numbers for the first time today. The braver ones have made short excursions from the hut for the past few days before hurriedly bolting back in again. Today, though, we had sunshine, blue skies, no wind and a trough full of Daphne’s feed to investigate.

‘It was Mum! She made the mess!’

I was working in the vegetable patch this afternoon when the boys shouted to me. “Two of the piglets are out with Daphne! They’re digging just like her.” I grabbed the camera from its perch on the spare fork, and ran to the pen to see if I could catch them in action.
