Snow doesn’t stop Harvey. Electric fences do. When he find his path blocked by an electric fence, he barks to ask if it’s on or off. If it’s off, I call him through. If it’s on, I’m expected to lift him over it and he’ll wave a paw until I do. He has it sorted.

Harvey, our Border Terrier, doesn’t mind the cold too much. But he does object to ploughing through snow that’s deeper than he is tall. Fortunately for him, we keep a number of tracks open around the croft and have a large clear space for parking the Land Rover.

Harvey, our Border Terrier, is fascinated by the recently hatched Scots Grey chicks. He sits beside their cage, sniffs them, whines at them and occasionally tries to paw them. The chicks, on the other hand, pay no attention to the dog whatsoever—even if he yips loudly beside them.
