We’re continuing to work on the Land Rover Defender’s suspension, with the Wee ‘Un replacing the rear springs and shocks absorbers (with a little grown-up help) and me replacing the front radius arm bushes (with help from the Wee ‘Un).
The Wee ‘Un is enjoying himself hugely, often singing as he works on the truck much to the amusement of his Mum, who’s usually careful to remain at a distance in case we rope her in to push springs into place.
When he bolted the shock absorber into place, the Wee ‘Un was delighted to discover he was strong enough to achieve the specific torque required for the nuts. We were going to replace the rear trailing arm bushes when we had the rear wheels off, but the chassis link bushes were missing from the kit and we have to wait for replacements to arrive. The Wee ‘Un doesn’t mind—it means he gets to work on the truck another day!
