Thanks to JB for covering the cost of the diesel we’ve used on all the hospital trips this week and to Thin Fourth for the loan of a hard drive filled with movies to keep me away from the horrors of daytime television. Much appreciated. Thanks also to everyone who’s sent messages of support since I smashed my wrist.

Thanks also to BS and WH. We’ve covered all our hospital costs for last week, plus the costs we’ll incur going for the first check-up, thanks to the support from them and JB. It makes a big difference knowing those costs won’t impact on our budget.

Best wishes to you Stony! Hope it’s getting easier!
No, it’s not. I went to rugby with the boys this morning and my arm flared up, making me less than happy. Then we came, had lunch and I started thinking about things to do: finish servicing the truck, replace the bolts that hold the piglet creep in place, move Delilah into the pen with the creep for farrowing, prune the soft fruit and apple trees, take the dog for a fast walk. Then I remembered I can’t do any of the above, so I’m now even more grumpy.
You’re not the most patient of patients, are you!
Oh brother. Just read about your mishap. The next while isn’t going to be an easy time. I’ve heard that a vacuum cleaner sucking air at the edge of the cast can provide a bit of relief.
I guess you’ll get to experiment with a bit of summer pruning. Hope you heal fast, Stoney.
I still have most of my teeth, so I thought I might try a bit of goat-like foraging to get the pruning done.
Not sure how to ask this one mate, but here goes…have you had that curry and cider yet? (and if so, can we have the recipe?) (ducks)
Whop, whop, whop, whop, thump. That was the sound of a flung wellie boot.
Curry, yes. Cider, no. Alcohol and pain killers do not mix.
We splurged a little yesterday to cheer us all up: bought seafood, olive oil and shortgrain rice, then made a paella with those, sausage, chicken, beans, peppers, paprika, rosemary etc. Made enough for three days, so a major treat and reduced cooking for the OH for three days. Wee ‘Un made lunch yesterday, Big Lad will make lunch today. I need an elevated chair so I can sit and supervise the kitchen.
Funny how many things you see that need to be done when you can’t possibly do them…OK it’s not funny at all, maddening! Take care and heal well
Sorry to hear you’re banged up. Hope you recover quickly and things go as well as possible on the croft till you’re ready to be back at it.
