One frame. That’s it despite spending a long time, on my belly, in wet grass and squelchy sheep dung trying to get a decent photo of Harvey, our Border Terrier, against the sunset. He’d face the wrong way (as he is here), he move so there was grass between me and him, he’d go off after a scent, he’d want a pat, he’d move, and on it went. Frame after frame after frame was a reject. This one was the only useable one and, fortunately, the one closest to what I was after. Was it worth the effort? I’ll leave it to the readers to decide.

Gorgeous photo. Truly.
A lovely photo, very atmospheric.

I think you got pretty close to your goal Stoney; I like the shot.
Magnificent!
Yes it was!
I’d say so. He looks like the posterpup for his breed. Great lighting too.
I need to get a reflector set (are you listening Santa Claus?) as a gold reflector would have put a little more light on his shadow side. I was aiming for gold highlights over shadows but his flanks and belly are a little too dark for my liking. I could have tweaked the image more but I’m deliberately avoiding Photoshop to concentrate on photography and not retouching. I use Aperture to deliberately restrict my options, although even it has features that sometimes tempt me.
