When we went for a walk, Harvey came too but found the snow was often too deep and too soft for his short legs. Whenever he found the going difficult, he’d stop in front of me or the Other Half, tap our boots with a paw, and do the “carry me please” look. It worked every time. I, on the other hand, got to be the trail breaker and main dog carrier, kicking paths through the snow for the OH and the Big Lad to follow. (The Wee ‘Un sensibly decided to stay inside with his book. Allegedly—I suspect the DS was actually smuggled out!)

I used to have a Sealyham terrier who liked to make tunnels under the snow
Its amazing how heavy a BT can become when youve carried it for a wee whiley!
Tell me about it!
Harvey likes bounding about when the snow is up to six inches deep, but 20 inches or more is not his thing. It’s fun watching him do the Border Terrier five-step in snow: run, run, run, run, SPRING, run, run, run, run, SPRING!
Ours is happy today as snow has got to BT carrying crispness rating so she can run around the field not just in the luge track make by the quad!
Ahhh ’tis a dog’s life isn’t it Harvey? Why walk when you can be carried. You must have your humans wrapped around your little paw I think, and that is the way it should be.
