Summer at last

The day started as we’ve come to expect from Scotland: overcast, low cloud, drizzle and a moderate wind.

I went out to work as usual until 11am when summer finally decided to arrive.

The clouds vanished, the drizzle stopped, the wind abated and the sun came out.

Not only that, but the temperature soared—well, by Scottish standards it did, reaching a high of 24.1C.

Of course, the media and the weather forecasters are in their usual tizz, proclaiming a heatwave with thousands expected to die. It’s the same scenario as winter, when they proclaim “Arctic conditions” and predict thousands will die.

Well, all I can say is I hope they go and die somewhere else as I don’t need any extra work.

Besides, I’m more than happy to enjoy the summer while it lasts, which will probably be about a week!

  1. 32C here (I had to look up the conversion) 26% humidity so it’s actually relatively pleasant… nice breeze blowing.

1000s will die… wow… and to think our weather forecasters just crack jokes and hand out umbrellas…

Well over the last two nights I truly believe something will die and I know exactly what that something will be………….

    The wee beasties!

There are really bad down here at present, I have not known them so bad as this year.

  3. The temperature reached 24.8C today, which is getting warm-ish. It wasn’t actually as pleasant as it sounds as the humidity was high at 92% so it was a little sticky. The pigs spent almost all their time either lying in their wallows, sleeping in their huts, or having showers under a watering can. Yes, they’re spoiled.
